Homemade All Purpose Cleaner
A good all purpose homemade cleaner that also cuts grease is made up of vinegar and baking soda. Mixing 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 1/4 cup of baking soda into a half gallon of water will result in a mixture that will clean black grease from your kitchen floor or food grease from your baking pan. This mixture will store in a sealed container or clean closed bottle or jug for several weeks.
Washing Soda
Plain old washing soda; also known as SAL soda (sodium carbonate decahydrate) is a mineral and when mixed with water makes an excellent homemade grease cutting cleaner. Use it in the washing machine to cut grease or on kitchen floors and countertops to clean away greasy residue.
Lemon Juice
The acidity of lemon juice will cut grease, especially kitchen grease from cooking and frying. Cut a whole lemon into sections. Rubbing the lemon directly onto the grease works well on especially greasy areas. Squeezing the lemon juice into some hot water and dipping a sponge into it will cut grease and help remove stains at the same time.
